Formulation:
Pyriproxyfen 10% EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate)
CAS NO:
95737-68-1
USAGE:
Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator used to control a wide range of
insect pests such as whiteflies, mosquitoes, and some scale insects. It acts by

Crop | Target Insects | Dosage (10% EC) | Application Timing | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|---|
Tomato | Whiteflies | 300-500 mL/ha | When the first signs of whitefly infestation are observed | 1) Thorough coverage of the foliage is essential 2) Repeat application may be required depending on the severity of the infestation |
Cucumber | Whiteflies | 250-400 mL/ha | Early in the infestation period | Use a high-pressure sprayer for better penetration |
Ornamentals | Scale insects | 400-600 mL/ha | During the crawler stage of scale insects | Test on a small area first to check for phytotoxicity |
Greenhouse Crops | Mosquitoes | 150-250 mL/ha | At dusk or dawn when mosquitoes are most active | Keep the greenhouse well-ventilated after application |
Mode of Action:
-Mimics the action of juvenile hormone, disrupting the normal growth and
development of insects
-Prevents insects from molting properly and reaching the adult stage
-Has both contact and ingestion activity
Benefits:
-Long-lasting residual activity, providing extended control
-Low toxicity to non-target organisms such as bees and beneficial insects when
used as directed
-Can be used in integrated pest management (IPM) programs
-Does not cause rapid insecticide resistance development
Precautions:
-PPE: Wear chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, and a respirator
-Do not apply in windy conditions to avoid drift
-Do not use near water sources
-Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight at 0°C to 35°C
Environmental Hazards:
-Toxic to aquatic invertebrates
-Do not allow the product to enter water bodies
-Low toxicity to birds and mammals
